More to come...

I have been one busy puppy traveling the countryside meeting all my friends. I have so many souvenirs and pictures to go through! I know I have not posted pictures of some of my travels. I promise to get them all up as soon as I can.

Rose arrives at A Doggie in the Window.

Tired from her trip, she takes a little rest with Red, he was happy to share his chair with a dog that wouldn't hump him;)

She checked out the local paper to see what was new (good thing she's potty trained). We went to the Illinois side of the Mississippi River to visit DITW's sister and enjoyed sitting on her deck on a beautiful fall day.

Rose got to meet Zoe, DITW's "niece" and Rose rolled over so Zoe could get to know her better;)

After the trip to the Illinois side of the river, we visited the Clinton, Iowa side, this is the city that DITW was born and raised in. There is a beautiful bike path so Rose got to take a little bike ride. Rose rode by the "Showboat", a permanently docked, retired riverboat that is used for theater performances.

Saturday it was time to give Rose to the next lucky groomer, Foxhunter. We met her at Crackerbarrel in Davenport, Iowa and had a lovely breakfast. After breakfast, Foxhunter gave me a little confirmation lesson and showed me how to stack Rose.

Our server was very accomodating and posed for a picture with Rose and Foxhunter.

Finally, we did a group pose in front of the Crackerbarrel fire place. Rose is now visiting Foxhunter in Kewanee, Illinois.

All Things Fibery
March 3, 2009
I'm so excited to be in the Pacific NW! Cathleen and her husband Troyce promised we'd have lots of fun this weekend. I can't wait! I have a new doggie friend named Rosey B. She was very nice, but her brother Oliver was grouchy. I stayed far far away from him.

Oh boy! Sunday is here and we are going to Seattle for the day. Cathleen said we'd see the Space Needle and Pike Street Market. There's some funny guys at the market that like to throw fish around. I hope they don't make me stinky.

Oh NO!!!! I just looked out the window and there is a blizzard outside! The roads are getting very slippery and we decided to wait until tomorrow for our big day to the city.

Instead Cathleen said I needed a little scarf to keep my neck warm. I helped her make it with some white, pink and green merino fiber, hot soapy water and bubble wrap. She also made me a bow out of hand spun yarn and a little tug toy to keep me happy.

OH NO!! Monday is here and it's snowing harder than yesterday. Cathleen is so disappointed that Mother Nature is keeping us from touring the area. But that's ok. I snuggled up to her and said it's nice just being in a warm cozy home on a cold nasty day. Troyce built a fire and Cathleen put me in a basket with some roving she dyed a few days ago. Contented sigh.

More fibery things! Cathleen showed me how to spin on her spinning wheel. Troyce also let me help make a table runner on his Bergman loom. I was so afraid of getting my fur caught in all the string heddles.

Cathleen is putting on her coat and putting me in the kennel. The roads are clear enough to go OUT on a surprise trip. I wonder where we're going since Seattle is still snowed in?

Hmmmmm. Alpacas West? What are those strange creatures on this farm? Cathleen told me that alpacas are related to llamas. And there are two types of alpacas - Suri and Huacaya but you can read more about them at Robert and Carole's Alpacas West site and see more beautiful alpaca photos.

I got to meet Sterling Silver and she really liked me alot! Cathleen and Troyce love alpacas and sheep and hope to someday have a small farmette. Until then Troyce is happy being a worm farmer - recycling food scraps and harvesting the worm castings for the garden. That is, what garden is left after the slugs feast away.

Today is Tuesday 3/10/2009 and I'm so excited! Cathleen told me today that I'm going on my next trip in a few hours. She wanted me to keep traveling instead of staying another week hoping the weather gets better by next weekend. Cathleen thanked me for coming to visit and wished me a speedy trip to my next destination.

Love to my friends,
Rose

12/14/08

I arrived in Sedalia Missouri at Canine Design Grooming Studio on November 19. Boy was I glad to get out of that box. It's nice and all but I was starting to get a little hungry. Marci let me snack out of the treat bowl on her counter.

It was a very busy week in her shop with all the other pooches getting ready for Thanksgiving. She said I was the best behaved Cocker Spanial she had ever met, but then she mentioned something about how that was because I have no bodily functions and am full of stuffing and most other cockers are full of something else that started with an "S" whatever that means.
She let me taste the turkey on Thanksgiving, it was a little dry but what do I know. I'm a dog and to me cat poop sounds delicious! She was used to her mom cooking Thanksgiving dinner and her just bringing a casserole and rolls she said but her parents were visiting her sister in Germany so she had to wing it and hear the comments from her kids about the lumpy potatoes and watery gravy. But anyway she said she was very thankful for so many things. Her family is doing well and are all healthy, her business is successful and close to being paid off, and it only cost 38.00 to fill her tank from empty when before it was costing 105.00 which is good because her husband works in the automotive industry and she is hoping that will help and maybe he will be able to keep his job.

I had a good time with Marci, she took me places with her, though most of the time she didn't have her camera she didn't take many pictures. She is a bit of a scatter brain but she said it is because of a combination of too many brain cells being killed during her high school years and concussions from horseback riding accidents. I just think she has too much to do, she is always on the go. But I got to go with her so that was good. She likes to listen to the radio really loud in her SUV and is usually playing a CD by Kid Rock or Alice Cooper, she said she plays it loud because she can sing along loud and shut out everything else so it gives her an outlet. I howled along a few times when she wasn't looking.

I went to see 2 movies with her and her daughter Shelby. She said they always see a movie every Saturday afternoon. Last week we saw a movie called Twilight, and today which is December 6th we saw one called 4 Christmases. Both were good movies, and I especially liked the big tub of popcorn! Not quite as tasty as kitty crunchies but pretty darn good! Marci and her daughter Shelby also took me with them when she was teaching Shelby to drive. She is turning 16 on December 11 and wants to get her license soon. I was a little scared, especially when Marci got in on the passengers side after doing the sign of the cross. Shelby just rolled her eyes and called her dramatic. But sometimes Shelby would have a close call, I swear I saw Marci cover her eyes at least once or twice, yikes!

I really liked Marci's horses. She has 3 and they all have their own little quirky personalities. She said Tejano is silly horse with a sense of humor. The other day he ripped off a piece of Poeta's blanket during turnout and followed Poeta around with it in his mouth. He kept flapping it in front of his face just daring Poeta to try to get it. When Poeta would try he would run off with it and come back for more. Once he dropped it on the ground and just held his mouth over the piece of blanket. When Poeta tried to get it Tejano pinned his ears, snapped at Poeta then took off with it again. She really got a kick out of it. I don't think it was anything special, us dogs play like that all of the time. Today was the most fun day of all. It was the Christmas parade. She rode her horse Talon in the parade. She was thinking about strapping me to the saddle and letting me go along for the ride, but decided I might get dirty and smell like horses forever which she said she wouldn't mind but others might not like it so she just promised me a quick ride on Talon back at the stable after the parade. That was a lot of fun! Talon is such a sweet horse, but he was a bit tired after the parade and kept thinking about laying down and rolling while I was on him so we had to make it a short ride so he could go to his stall, eat his lunch and take a nap.

I like it here in Sedalia. They have these huge planes in the sky you see them all the time. They look like big kites. Sometimes they are so close to the ground they barely clear the trees, and sometimes they are way up in the sky. Marci called them B-2 Stealth Bombers. They are really cool to see!!! We went to the Chamber of Commerce here which is in a old restored train station to pick up some brochures about Sedalia. It's a cute little town with lots of history. She said she is going to put those things in my box to give me stuff to look at on my way to my next stop. She has been busy making Christmas collar scrunchies for her customers and promised me she would put one on me before sending me on my trip. I really liked it here but I can't wait to see where I get to go next!!

11/17/08

As you can see, they put me to work on my last day with Kelly. They were short handed and had a heavy surgery load, so I suited up and helped out a bit.

I also made a friend. I'm afraid though that he developed quite a crush on me. I hope his heart isn't broken too badly. I tried to tell him I was only there for a short visit....

Bye for now

11/16/08

I am having so much fun in Nebraska! Yesterday Kelly, her sister and I had a girls' day out. We went to the Pink Flamingo Salon and Spa. Kelly says they are the best and worth the over 2 hour drive to get there. I know I got the star treatment!!

Today we went to the Johnny Carson exhibit at the Elkhorn Valley Museum. That's where my star treatment continued. Did you know they don't let you take pictures in that museum?? Well Kelly was able to get special permission to take one of me.

As I mentioned before, Nebraska is pretty cold this time of year. Kelly took me shopping. I'm all set now. I think I look stunning in green, don't you?

Bye for now.

Rose

11/12/08

I told my chauffeur that I wanted to surprise Kelly and asked him to hide me somewhere that I could jump out and yell "Surprise!!"

Well being taped inside a box and stuck under a door mat was not what I had in mind.........

Here I am, warming up in the house after she found my hiding place. Nebraska is not the place to be stuck outside under a welcome mat in November!

I have to run for now. I'll catch you up on my travels soon.

Love,
Rose

P.S. I'm taking applications for a new chauffeur.
